On January 14, 2011, the the Mayor Stephen Ferrara - keeping the promises made to the City -, has signed an order in which urgent contingibile was prepared the SUSPENSION with IMMEDIATE EFFECT of all activities related to any work on the CONSTRUCTION of CENTRAL fired by biomass (vegetable oils) for the production of electricity .
The first citizen - an interpreter of the popular will, and taking into account the decisions taken by the City Council (Resolution No. 69 of 09.09.2010) - took immediate blocking, in fact, authorized the construction of the Campania Region, to protect the health of his fellow citizens threatened by environmental hazards arising from the operation of such a center.
The Mayor, with the legal provision cited , made a brave choice, aware that it must still face difficult obstacles and very strong resistance, whereas the interests involved and the authority of the opponents.
A first step has been done and with the support of citizens throughout the City Council will continue determined that the Region of Campania permanently cancel the measure.
